Life is a journey, right? You start out on a path as a child and you have no idea where life is going to take you, but I think that is not quite true. We each have our own internal rudder, guiding and steering us in and out of life's different tide pools. I've had a few moments where my rudder was tested, but I always sail through and come out the other side with a new story.
I had a childhood that tested me, created me, if you will. I only know how to be me. I am not one to just allow life to take where it may. I'm in charge of my life and it was supposed to include Tom Mosley. That young man loved me and never wanted to leave me, but destiny had other plans for him. I heaved a heavy sigh and kept going. I knew then, just as I know now, that life had more in store for me. I was lucky and found another man to love me and the love I have for him is no different than the love that I had for Tom. I raised a family with him and still needed more. I rediscovered my childhood passion and began my memoir. When I wrote that book, I had one goal in mind, get Tom and his story out there, because he saved me. I was downtrodden and living in a loveless home when we met and that story immediately changed the second I met him. My story, our story, his story, it all poured out of me.
